FAQ
Why should you choose treatment guided by Emergency Physicians?
Because every medication comes with side-effects, and Ketamine has rare but serious side-effects, that should only been managed by an experienced physician.
Why do we only use IV and IM infusions?
Because unlike intranasal and oral options, we know exactly how much medication is in your blood stream, and we can make dose adjustments in real time. Also, if you have a poor reaction, we can stop the medication immediately, and treat you with fast acting IV and IM medications.
How many infusions will I need?
After the standard initial treatment of 6 infusions, most patients report immediate and permanent relief. Others may require a booster infusion after 1 month, and some at 6 months.
How much does it cost, and is it covered by insurance?
We hope that health insurance companies will soon approve coverage for this life-changing treatment. However, at this time it is self-pay only.
For the initial induction series of 6 treatments, we offer a 5% discount if paid in full before your first appointment.
Do you offer treatment financing?
Advanced Care Credit offers up to 14 months of 0% interest. Advanced Care Credit is an easy and affordable way to help you pay for treatments not covered by insurance.
Do I need a referral?
You do not need a referral, but we will request to review your medical records to see if ketamine infusion therapy is right for you. We will also need to obtain an assessment before initiating therapy.
We met and completed our residency training in Emergency Medicine together at the only civilian Level One Trauma Center in San Antonio. Since then, we have practiced throughout South Texas, and have almost ten years of experience with safe Ketamine administration.
